History

The Beginning

The story of Axis Ministries begins in 1999 when Shaun Pulsifer, founder of Axis Ministries, founded Consuming Fire Ministries at Coast Community Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. During the two years of running the ministry he began feeling a pull to redefine Consuming Fire and to start changing it into a Performing Arts Ministry and to incorporate video production into the ministry. But before the new vision could take form, Shaun left Coast Community, and relocated to Reno, Nevada in 2001.

Wondering in the Wilderness

During the five years of living in Reno, Shaun saw many ups and downs. Ministry vanished out of his life, as he was searching for a new church to call home, as well as under going many personal struggles, ranging from financial to sever health issues. As well as enjoying a job in production at KTVN Channel 2.

It wasn't until spring of 2003 that he started feeling God calling him back to ministry and that's when Three Nails Productions was born. That name lasted for about a year and in 2004 Axis Productions was born. John Cruz, Josh Bonano and Jason Hunter were part of the team. Jason Hunter created the logo and Josh created the logo animation. But due to the teams personal lives it didn't last long. So the idea of Axis continued to resonate within Shaun. He would continue to work with the idea in Reno, until 2006 when he left.

Personal Discovery

In 2006, Shaun left Reno for Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is there that he under went great personal growth. Upon arriving in Calgary, he took a personal development program through Personal Best Seminars, and it was their that he began to rediscover the man that God created him to be and the purpose God created him for.

In 2007, Axis Ministries began to move forward again, but yet again the concept failed. It wasn't until October 2009 that Shaun realized what it was that was preventing Axis from moving forward.

Rebirth

In October 2009, God shared with Shaun the reason why things aren't moving forward. God revealed to him that he was trying to hard to recreate the ministry and church experience he had at Coast Community Church, rather than creating a new experience. The experience that God desired him to have and to share with others.

So as a result of that revelation Axis Ministries experienced a magnificent rebirth, following the plan that God has set forth, and in 2010 the vision and the dream becomes reality.

Declaration of Principles

The Bible

The Bible, God's word to us, was written by humans and inspired by God, is the source of truth and authority for spiritual living. The Bible is to be interpreted by one's heart, and should not be used to pass judgement on to others.

God/Humanity/Salvation

God designed and created the universe. He has always existed, and has existed through three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal each possessing all the attributes of Diety, and are one God.

God created humans in His own image to have fellowship with Him. We are not only created in His own image we are in fact a spark of the divine, but we defied God by sinfully going our own way. And due to that, we need God's saving grace to end our alienation from Him.

Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must choose to accept it. Salvation can only come by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness. When we turn from our selves and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.

Jesus

Jesus, God in human flesh, came to Earth to have a human experience and lived a sinless life. He also paid the price for our sin by dying on the cross as our salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. On the third day, He rose from the dead and became the mediator between us and God. He will come again to Earth to consummate history.

Holy Spirit/The Church

The Holy Spirit is what draws us to the awareness that we need Jesus and equips believers for personal growth and service to the Body of Christ a.k.a The Church. The Holy Spirit also provides every believer spiritual gifts.

The church's roll is to be in relationship with God and service to others. At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Those forgiven through Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.

Community

We commit to be in community with one another in the way of Jesus. We strive to accept each other as we are and welcome the participation of all persons regardless of age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation or religious background.

Accountability

Accountability is essential for any society to function, we are all held accountable in one way or another. Accountability involves trust, as well as a willingness to be open. God holds us accountable. Romans 14:12 says, “So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Mission Statement

To be a powerful and impactful ministry, which transforms people's lives and shares God's love, mercy and grace to the world.
